  • Curacao!!

Curacao was a ton of fun.  Traveling there with a bunch of your friends for another friends wedding was awesome.

Memorable moments and lots of pics to come.  For now, I'll leave you with this:

So Cin has a tradition of taking pics where people are jumping into the air.   First Cindy and I were jumping up and down.  No problem.  Then Pete and I decide to go.  So before he jumps, he takes his sandals off.

    Kin: Whatcha doing?

Pete: I'm taking my sandals off.  I don't want it to fall into the water.

Kin:  Its not going to fall into the water.  I just jumped 10 times with Cin and it didn't fall in.

Pete:  Nah...I think I'll just leave my sandals right here.

    Kin: Whatever, man.

As evidenced by the following picture, Peter is a wise wise man.  In fact, he's a prophet.

WE GOT A MAN DOWN!!  MAN DOWN!!

Just as I was about to jump into the water and attempt to retrieve my sandal with all my clothes on, a bunch of kids come along and are about to dive off the dock.

Kin:  I'll give you $5 to get my sandal for me.

    Little girl: Are you serious?

    Kin: Very serious.

    Little girl:  $10

Kin:    For $10, I'll get it myself.

Little girl:  OK, OK... I'll get it.

Reunited!  And it feels sooooooo gooooooood.

More pics and stories to come!!

  • Marathon

    Hey guys,

As you may or may not have already heard, I will be running in this years New York City marathon.

That's right.  This fatty is going to do 26.2 miles on November 5th.

Since I'm running as part of a charity team called Team For Kids, I really could use your support.

Don't worry, the money won't be going to me before it makes it to TFK.  Its going straight to the charity team. =)

The money you donate will go to support TFK's fitness programs, primarily in New York but also in new locations such as San Francisco and Tampa Bay.  Their goal is to help reverse the alarming rise of childhood obesity in our schools.

Or in Omay's oh so eloquent words:  "Kin's running for the fat kids."

Anyway, I know the real reason you guys would donate is cuz you love me.  Right?

    *crickets*

    Hello?

    *tumbleweed*

    That's not funny guys.

    Ok, here's the link: https://www.nyrrc.org/cgi-bin/start.cgi/mar-programs/nyrrf/team/donations.htm

My registration number is 4538.  My last name if you didn't already know is Siu. =D

If you'd like to hear more about the program, just email me or call.  The team's website is here: www.teamforkids.org

    Your donation is tax deductible!

    Thank you!!

  • Life's simple pleasures

    Tagged by Jo

You've probably seen this going around all of xanga but with real conflict in the Middle East and other parts of the world, its a good exercise for me to reflect on just how blessed I am.  Thanks God!

In no particular order - my simple pleasures

    1.  Teaching someone something(anything) and watching the light come on.

    2.  Long road trips with both reflective and hilarious conversation.

    3.  Catching up with old friends.

    4.  Frantically looking for something (like my passport ) and finally finding it.  (in my car ).

    5.  Morning devotion times.

    6.  Warm hugs.

    7.  Dancing with no shame at a club and having a good time.

    8.  Completing a long run feeling like I can keep going.

    9.  Writing.  With a nice pen.

    10.  Cleaning my room.  Though this rarely happens.

  • Shrimp

A friend and I said we would blog about something.  Of course, we had to discuss topics that we'd blog about like integrity, blogging about how great she is, how those two topics are opposites of each other.  So we decided to blog about something much more important and interesting and that topic is.... shrimp.

    Yeaaaaa.........

Things that come to mind when I think of Shrimp:

    1)  The 2nd or 3rd dish that comes out during Chinese wedding banquets.  Deep friend shrimp covered with mayo.  The walnuts are great too.

    2)  Bubba: Anyway, like I was sayin', shrimp is the fruit of the sea. You can barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it, saute it. Dey's uh, shrimp-kabobs, shrimp creole, shrimp gumbo. Pan fried, deep fried, stir-fried. There's pineapple shrimp, lemon shrimp, coconut shrimp, pepper shrimp, shrimp soup, shrimp stew, shrimp salad, shrimp and potatoes, shrimp burger, shrimp sandwich. That-.....that's about it.

    3)  My shrimp of a nephew!!!  I'm patiently waiting for him to be able to walk around and talk some.  Gonna pick up girls with him.  Hhahahahahhaha.

  • San Diego and LA

Went to Cali last weekend for a Christian Men's Conference.  I don't know what was wrong with me prior to me leaving but I just couldn't go to bed.  I got about an hour of sleep before waking up and heading out to Newark.  Fortunately, I have an uncanny knack of being able to sleep on planes.  Took Amy's out in Little Tokyo and I managed to pay for her dinner but she managed to pay for the bottle at Mood even after I switched my CC with hers.  Very tricksy.  Next time, I'll know.  Lots of hot girls at Mood....but I hear there's also a lot of plastic surgery done.  Who knows?  They were still hot!

    Happy Belated Birthday Amy!

Met up with Diane on Friday.  Christina joined us later on.  These girls are so sweet, everytime my friends or I are in LA they try to make time for us.  Its amazing that we met a few years ago in Tokyo and still keep in touch even though we live on different coasts.  And because this is her favorite picture...and I'm sure she'll see this:

Hahahahhahahaahhahahha...... I'll post different pics when you guys finally visit NYC.

Attended Lee's Men's Boot Camp in San Diego.  Met a bunch of really cool guys and have hopefully made some lifelong connections.  Really encouraging and motivating weekend but too much to go over here on xanga.  If you want to know more details, hit me up and we'll do dinner!  Here's a pic of the guys and some of the steaks we had.  You have to look closely but trust me, they were MONSTER.  And so juicy too.

  • Weekend recap

Is it my imagination or has 2006 been going by reallyyyyy fast?  Its almost June!

I need to blog more.  The word "need" might seem extreme but the way my memory works... it needs to be kick started.  Sometimes when I read my old blogs they make me chuckle or reminisce.  In a sense it slows time for me because when I try to think of what's happened to me this year... I'm drawing mostly a blank.  That's scary when  I think about how fast this year has gone.

Had dinner with Jnet on Friday and then hung out at her place.  Its a mess.  Just like always.  Too many shoes.  I remember when I used to camp out at her apt cuz I didn't want to go all the way back to NJ.

Saturday went on a 40 minute run before dragon boat practice.  This character finally showed up to a practice.  We've been talking about it for like three months.  Had dropped off a friend in Ctown after practice only to have her call me about 6 hours later and ask me to hang out.  By then I had already showered, napped and watched a bit of Van Helsing.  I decided that this weekend would be a low key one.   After I called her out on not showering her friends are like... Ew, you touched my face!  Hahhahahahah.

Sunday and Monday were basically days of feasting.  We always end up with more food than we need.  And with about five people bailing, we ended up with a lot more food than we needed.  From Sunday 1pm to Monday 1pm it was basically 24 hours of eating....except for when I went to bed.  July 1 BBQ is next if anyone's interested.  Some funny moments - my roommate on phone - "Talk dirty to me".  Spend two hours trying to start a fire.  Telling everyone that we didn't have enough food.  Watching Wedding Crashers.  Teachign Jennii how to play poker.  Who brings cornish hens to a bbq?  When in doubt, give it to Dayton's mom.  Nectar of the gods.  Excuse me sir, you're at the wrong bbq...this bbq started at 1pm, not 4pm.  Telling someone to sleep in the basement.  Shared how my neighbor used to drop a fish into his pool, put on a pair of goggles and then tells me he's going to go "Fishing".  Watched X3.

Good company.  Good food.  Good times.

  • Apprentice!

Our company's designer is going to be featured on the Apprentice tonight!

Too bad I couldn't sneak into the floor when they were filming.  Hhahahahah.

And good thing my roommate has Tivo or I'd have real conflict between watching Apprentice or the season finale of 24.

  • My role model

I want to dance like this guy.  Hahhahahahahah
